Above & Beyond Senior Living

What Actually Happens When You Work With Us

You get a free first call, a shortlist of two to four vetted Colorado communities, tours we attend with you, help with the paperwork, and a free four-hour Tuck-In on move-in day. Most families move within two to six weeks. Urgent cases move faster, often in 24 to 72 hours.

What does a senior placement advisor do?

An advisor knows the communities from the inside, matches your family to the few that fit, and stays with you through move-in.

Our team spent years running assisted living and memory care communities before starting Above & Beyond. That means we know which Colorado buildings staff well at night, which ones handle dementia behaviors gracefully, and which ones raise care fees the moment a resident needs more help.

We are not a call center and we do not sell your phone number. Three people do this work, we visit communities in person, and one of us stays with your family from the first call through the first week after the move.

What are the five steps, start to finish?

  1. 1

    The first call

One phone call, about twenty minutes, no forms first. We ask what changed, what help is needed with bathing, medication, and mobility, what the monthly budget looks like, and which part of Colorado you want to be in. We ask about memory loss, oxygen, a wheelchair, diabetes care, and behaviors, because those decide which communities can actually accept your family. Nothing is decided on this call. You hang up knowing what level of care fits and what it is likely to cost.

  2. 2

    Your shortlist

We match what you told us against communities we have walked through ourselves. You get two to four options, not twenty, and each one comes with the real monthly price, the care level it can handle, the staffing pattern, and what we honestly think of the leadership team. We tell you which ones pay us a referral fee and which do not. If nothing fits your budget, we say that plainly and show you what would need to change.

  3. 3

    Tours, with us there

We meet you at the community and tour with you. We ask about caregiver-to-resident ratios on the night shift, how they handle a fall at 3 a.m., what triggers a care level increase, and what happens if money runs out later. You get to focus on how the place feels while we track the details. Afterward we compare notes with you honestly, including the things that gave us pause.

  4. 4

    The paperwork

Admission packets are long and dull, and they hide the parts that matter. We go through the residency agreement with you, flag the care level fees, the deposit terms, the rate increase language, and the discharge clauses. We chase the physician forms, the TB test, the medication list, and the records the community needs from the hospital or the doctor. You sign. We handle the chasing.

  5. 5

    The Tuck-In on move-in day

Move-in day is when most families feel worst, so we show up. Our free four-hour Tuck-In means we help unpack, make the bed, hang pictures on the wall, label clothing for the laundry, set up the phone and the television, and introduce your family to the caregivers by name. We check back in the following week to see how the first nights went.

How long does this take?

Families who are planning ahead usually take two to six weeks from the first call to move-in day. Most of that time is tours and family discussion, not paperwork.

When a hospital or rehab discharge is driving the timeline, we compress it. We know which communities have a bed this week and which can complete an assessment in a day, so 24 to 72 hours is often realistic. If that is your situation, start at our urgent placement page.

What does it cost?

Nothing, to you. Communities pay us a referral fee after a move-in, out of the same marketing budget that pays for their advertising. Your rent is the same either way. The full explanation lives on our page on whether senior placement is really free.

For the communities themselves, plan on Colorado senior living cost ranges. If memory loss is the reason you are looking, start with memory care and read our guides on working with an advisor.

Frequently asked questions

Most families move within two to six weeks. If a discharge is coming, we can often find a bed in 24 to 72 hours. If you are planning ahead, we are happy to move at your pace.

No. We usually put two to four communities in front of you. You pick which ones are worth your time, and we can rule places out over the phone first.

Yes. One of us meets you at the community, asks the questions families do not think to ask, and tells you afterward what we noticed.

We walk you through it line by line and chase down the medical records, the assessment, and the physician forms the community needs.

On move-in day we give you four free hours of help. We unpack, make the bed, hang pictures, label clothing, and introduce your family to the staff.

Nothing. Families never pay us. Communities pay a referral fee after a move-in, and that fee does not raise your rent.
